September 15th is our next deadline!

Apologies for the late reminder, but our next deadline is fast approaching! Please send us your best haiku, senryu, haibun, haiga, and all manner of haiku-related arts by September 15th for consideration for our next issue.

We'll be undergoing some editorial and design changes over the upcoming year -- we'll post more detailed information for you very soon.

Deadline coming up! April 15th

The IRS has generously given you until April 17th to complete your taxes this year, so your only concern for April 15th should be to send your best haiku, senryu, haiga and haibun to SxSE for consideration.*

Issue #19:1 is hitting mailboxes

Our new issue is just out -- the first issue of South by Southeast's 19th year. We current editors have only been on board for 12 of those years, but it's still hard to believe we've been at it for that long. Thanks for all of your support, with both subscriptions and submissions.

The latest issue of South by Southeast is reaching mailboxes now. It features haiku, senryu, haiga and haibun by Stanford Forrester, LeRoy Gorman, Elizabeth Howard and many others. In addition we publish an essay about haiku and artists' books by Josh Hockensmith, and an essay on traditional Japanese senryu by Steve Addiss. We'll post the 3 haiku selected as Editor's Choice winners on this blog soon.
